Privacy policy
Last updated 16 October 2026. StackPilot ("we") runs usestackpilot.app. Contact: hello@usestackpilot.app · StackPilot · Parcel Locker 50, SCHOFIELDS NSW 2762, AUSTRALIA. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles and aim to meet GDPR standards for visitors in the EU/UK.
What we collect and why
- Picker answers (your idea text, budget, timeline, comfort). These stay in your browser (localStorage) and are not sent to us, except when you buy a Build Plan (see below).
- Newsletter sign-ups: your email address, collected through Netlify Forms, to send The StackPilot Weekly. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Build Plan purchases: payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We receive your email, name, country and the payment status.
- Build Plan emails: if you buy, we use Resend to email your plan when you ask, and a short series of 5 build-tip emails over 2 weeks. For this we store your email, your plan's app idea and stack choices, and the Stripe checkout reference. You can unsubscribe from the tips at any time from any email; it doesn't affect your plan.
- Hosting logs: our host Netlify processes standard technical data (IP address, browser) to serve and protect the site.
Analytics and cookies
We currently use no analytics and no tracking or advertising cookies. If that changes, we'll update this page first. Some tool links may be affiliate links; the tool's site may then set its own cookies.
Who processes your data
- Stripe (payments): stripe.com/privacy
- Resend (email delivery): resend.com/legal/privacy-policy
- Netlify (hosting and forms): netlify.com/privacy
These providers may store data outside Australia (mainly the USA). We don't sell your data or share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Newsletter emails until you unsubscribe. Purchase records as long as needed for tax and accounting (generally 5–7 years). Build-tip contact data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Your rights
Email hello@usestackpilot.app to access, correct or delete your data, or to complain. We'll reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or your local data protection authority.
